Development of a BMS (Battery Monitoring System) for Triton Submarines

Triton Submarines EMEA builds luxury and research submarines. We developed their Battery Monitoring System: low-level software that manages and monitors the batteries in real time.

Triton Submarines EMEA designs, builds and sells luxury and research submarines made to explore the depths of the ocean. Its crewed submarines can carry up to six people to depths of up to 1,000 meters and are used by scientists, explorers and tourists around the world.

At Neurafy we worked side by side with Triton Submarines EMEA, carrying out their internal development as an outsourced team. Thanks to that collaboration, Triton was able to develop a BMS on time and fit it to a new unit before testing in a real-world environment, all without overloading its in-house engineers.

Objective

To develop a BMS capable of managing battery charging and discharging and displaying their status on screen in real time, through low-level software that would handle charge and discharge management, read the battery status and represent it on screen.

Solution

Neurafy developed a Battery Monitoring System designed specifically for Triton's submarines. The system enables precise, real-time monitoring of charge, temperature and voltage. Using highly accurate sensors and intelligent algorithms, the BMS ensures optimal battery performance and safe operation in the depths of the ocean.

Results

The combination of Neurafy's technological expertise and Triton's excellence in submarine manufacturing resulted in a unique, custom-built BMS that has taken underwater navigation to new levels of safety and efficiency.
